About our Bow-Tie Cut
Lyndall Bow-Tie cut rotors are our newest design. These are similar to the Crown Cut design, but with significantly less weight and better outgassing. Our Bow-Tie cut friction rings are also designed to provide better stopping power. By reducing the surface area where the brake pads make contact with the friction ring, surface tension is increased. This means, with a fixed amount of clamping power, the brake pads will bite harder on a lesser amount of surface area.
Lyndall rotors are American-made and CNC machined from high carbon steel in Orange, California. Our rotors are made to withstand high temperatures and extreme braking situations. This allows us to lifetime guarantee our rotors (when you use Lyndall brake pads.)
All Lyndall rotors are three-piece floating rotors, with the outer friction ring attached to the carrier by a highly secure attachment ring, giving your rotor the flush look of a one piece rotor, with the performance benefit of a floating rotor.
If you are purchasing a gold or black Lyndall rotor and want to maintain the finish on your rotor, you must use Lyndall Z Plus brake pads.
